Handcrafted Goodness from Burgersmith

Today for our EatLafayette office lunch excursion, the boss chose Burgersmith. Located in River Ranch and serving handcrafted burgers as well as Louisiana beer and ice cream (yum!) Burgersmith is crazy busy at lunchtime. Why? I've said it before and I'll say it again. Lafayette knows good food when it eats, smells and tastes it.

The crew here was really excited about Burgersmith having tasted their sliders at the Business After Hours event in June. The boss, admittedly not a big meat-eater, ordered the All-Natural burger and upon finishing the whole thing, explained that that was obviously one happy cow. I ordered my burger with cheese, lettuce, mayo and Burgersmith's own creole mustard. Lauren ordered her Jr. Burger with lettuce and chipotle mayo.

Our order came in a huge white bag with a spiffy glossy Burgersmith sticker (love it!) and our entire order was individually wrapped so that it didn't touch the foil that most burger joints wrap with. Instead it was nestled safely in Burgersmith printed paper which was simply a step above. From the packaging to the taste, it's obvious they're proud of their product - as they should be. The burgers were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside and the buns were delicious! It was decided before we knew what we wanted on our burgers that we were ordering a side order of each of Burgersmith's fry varieties. The regular fries with sea salt were wonderful, while the Burgersmith fries had a little cajun kick which was highly enjoyable. My favorite? The garlic and butter fries that had just a hint of both flavors and was masterful on the tastebuds.

Special thanks goes out to Jacklyn and Kelsey and the rest of the Burgersmith team for going above and beyond for us!

EatLafayette Videos will make your mouths water!

And if you haven't seen the EatLafayette commercials on tv yet, you can check those out as well. See how many Lafayette faces you can recognize, as they talk about why they love to EatLafayette! Local food and local people make great local commercials! See all three tv spots here.

There is something about seeing food on screen that makes all of our mouths water. Our eyes glaze over, our stomach rumbles and we can't help but say, "Wow that looks good!"

If you haven't visited the EatLafayette YouTube channel yet, you are missing out. You can find videos featuring several EatLafayette participating restaurants, their owners and chefs and of course the FOOD! It's like a video menu, and everything is delicious!

Many thanks go to Townsquare Media for their Dine Around coverage this year. Several DJs visited participating restaurants for an up close and personal look at some of the best food in the world. Check out the DJ Dine Around playlist here.

You can also find videos from this year's EatLafayette Business After Hours Kick-Off Event. The crew from KADN Fox 15 sampled food and interviewed owners and chefs from the restaurants that attended the event. You can see all of the KADN restaurant spots here.

We hope that after seeing these videos with all the delicious EatLafayette food you'll want to eat up the screen you are watching them on. But don't do that! It won't taste very good...trust us. Instead, visit any of the 53 participating restaurants to taste the food for yourself. There are only 2 weeks left of the campaign, but please continue to eat locally all year long! Allons Manger Lafayette!

Don't forget to sign up for the Free Caribbean Cruise every time you visit an EatLafayette restaurant! Deadline for entries is Sunday, August 15th.
