Sponsors Add Spice to EatLafayette
(Lafayette, La.) – In its eighth year, EatLafayette has garnered more sponsor involvement than ever before. Many sponsors are facilitating promotions that benefit the restaurants and the public.
The New Fly Lafayette Club and Mondavi Wines are title sponsors of EatLafayette 2012 and are collaborating with EatLafayette and many of the participating restaurants to bring everything they can to the campaign.
Townsquare Media DJs are filming their dining experiences at EatLafayette restaurants and posting them on Townsquare Media radio station websites. EatLafayette will post the videos to YouTube and to their website on each restaurants’ page. Townsquare is also conducting a giveaway for tickets to the kick-off event, A Taste of Lafayette, which takes place on June 19. Restaurants have the opportunity to submit recipes to Townsquare Media which will then be “pinned” to the EatLafayette Pinterest page, where the public will be able to use and share the recipes.
KLFY TV 10 is conducting an on-air giveaway for tickets to the kick-off event and giving away gift certificates for lunch to EatLafayette restaurants on their morning and noon programs, Passé Partout and Meet Your Neighbor. KLFY is also sponsoring a Restaurant of the Week promotion in which the public can sign up to win dinner at the Restaurant of the Week by clicking on the web banners on KLFY.com or visiting the KLFY or EatLafayette Facebook pages.
KADN Fox 15, myKLAF TV and WVLA are sponsoring Public Service Announcements with the restaurants who are participating in the kick-off event, A Taste of Lafayette. Each restaurant at the event will be filmed for a short informational video that will be run on KADN Fox 15 for the duration of the campaign.
The Independent Weekly has created a new feature in the Eats section of their paper which will feature the Dish of the Week at an EatLafayette restaurant. The featured dishes will also be published on the paper’s website, theind.com.
Travel Machine is offering a free 4-day cruise for two to the public. To register to win the cruise, customers must visit an EatLafayette restaurant to fill out a registration form. There is no purchase required to enter and no limit to the number of entries one can submit. A winner will be drawn live on-air on Townsquare Media radio station 99.9 KTDY with CJ and Debbie Ray in the morning. For more information, visit eatlafayette.com.
Event Rental is making the EatLafayette kick-off event, A Taste of Lafayette, the best yet with their high-quality furniture, props and service.
Lamar Outdoor has assisted EatLafayette in creating a compelling billboard campaign that will run the duration of the campaign.
Louisiana Hot Sauce has again partnered with EatLafayette for the Follow the Louisiana Hot Sauce Bottle promotion. On certain days, the twelve-foot-tall inflatable Louisiana Hot Sauce bottle will pop up and an EatLafayette restaurant to usher in customers and signal a great deal. The deal will only run from 11am until 2pm on the designated day. The public will be notified of the deal via the weekly EatLafayette newsletter, Facebook and Twitter updates and, on the day of the event, via a billboard and announcements on Townsquare Media Radio Stations.

About EatLafayette™
What started as a conversation between two local businessmen in Lafayette, Louisiana has evolved into a successful promotions campaign that provides a unique opportunity for people to experience local cuisine in Lafayette. Charlie Goodson, owner of Charley G’s Seafood Grill, and Gerald Breaux, executive director of the Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission got together in early 2005 to discuss how locally-owned restaurants could gain visibility in a market flooded with big-dollar franchise restaurant advertising.
The result of those conversations was a summer EatLafayette campaign that is now in its eighth year. EatLafayette is a two-month celebration showcasing the restaurants that make Acadiana culture so appetizing. This year’s campaign is a true success with over 60 restaurants signed up to participate.
